Senior Rukiga District Education Official Tips Schools On Teaching ICT
The Rukiga District Inspector of Schools, Christopher Ndyabegyera has implored schools to have teachers adopt a robust strategy for teaching and learning Information Communication and Technology (ICT), to meet global standards.
Ndyabegyera made the call during the celebrations to commemorate Saint Peter and Paul Day at St. Paul's Senior Secondary Bukinda in Rukiga district. He was the guest of honour at the event.
The Rukiga District Inspector of Schools, Christopher Ndyabegyera, has emphasized the significance of perceiving computer tools, not just as a means to enhance ICT capabilities but also as a gateway to interactive learning materials, thereby fostering improved access to educational resources.
Ndyabegyera also urged students to maintain the highest levels of discipline and strive for academic excellence.
John Bosco Ruhangasiimwe, the head teacher of St. Paul's Senior Secondary Bukinda, awarded prizes and certificates to exceptional performers of the 2022 and 2019 A' level UNEB results. He appreciated the former students for their outstanding achievements and flying the school flag high in the Kigezi sub-region.
The headteacher explained that the school postponed the awards and prize-giving ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the school kept the promise to honour and celebrate the accomplishments of its students.
Expressing gratitude for divine blessings, Ruhangasiimwe conveyed optimism for future successes and jubilation at the school.
Earlier, during the thanksgiving mass, the Reverend Father Siliverio Twinomugisha encouraged students to emulate the founders' vision by maintaining discipline and focus to attain academic excellence.
The event also featured recognition and rewards for exemplary teachers and non-teaching staff, whose role was recognized for fostering outstanding academic performance and improving the school's standing.
