LUKE ALINAITWE

Today, on the 13th of June 2024, the Diocese of Kampala Synod convened for its annual meeting. The Synod, attended by members from across the Diocese, was chaired by Rt Rev Hannington Mutebi, the Assistant Bishop.

The presence of His Grace Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda and the Bishop of Kampala Diocese, added a blessing to the occasion. During the gathering, the Archbishop announced the appointment of new members to elevated positions as Canons.

The Diocese of Kampala held its annual synod today, with attendees from across the Diocese. Various proposals and resolutions were discussed, representing sectors such as the Laity, Clergy, and Bishops.

The Diocesan Secretary, Rev. Canon John Awodi, expressed gratitude to the Secretariat for their effective coordination and organization of the synod.

Outgoing synod members were recognized and appreciated for their dedicated service, with awards presented by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.

It's worth noting that this will be Rt Rev Hannington Mutebi's final Synod before retirement. He expressed appreciation to all who supported him during his tenure as Assistant Bishop of Kampala Diocese.
